An experience like that leaves some scars. Cops were patting me and my mates down right from when we were little kids, and we hated the bastards for it. I remember one of the times they knicked me and my brothers - they left out little 8 year old sister alone in the flat with no adults. Completely abandoned... wouldn't listen to us. I do see the two sides, though. If I had been in your place, I'd have been so utterly pissed off that I would have gone to the media and taken them to court.
